EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS)

The EU Settlement Scheme allows eligible EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and their family members to continue living in the UK.

 

Eligible applicants may be granted:

• Settled Status

• Pre-settled Status

 

The type of status granted will generally depend on the applicant’s period of continuous residence in the UK.

 

Applications may involve evidence relating to:

• Residence in the UK

• Continuous residence

• Family relationships

• Identity and nationality

• Immigration history

 

Joining Family Members

Certain family members of EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may still be eligible to apply to join their family member in the UK.

• Dependant parents and relatives

 

Eligibility requirements can vary significantly depending on:

• The relationship type

• When the relationship began

• Whether the sponsoring family member holds settled or pre-settled status

• Whether the applicant is applying from inside or outside the UK

 

EUSS Family Permit

Eligible family members outside the UK may be able to apply for an EUSS Family Permit to travel to the UK and join an eligible EU, EEA or Swiss family member.

 

Applications often require detailed evidence relating to:

• Family relationship

• Sponsor’s immigration status

• Residence history

• Dependency where applicable
